Assistant Manager Group Accounting
Purpose of this role is to realise the financial administration of Distribution Centers in Middle & Western Europe. This role can be expanded to new Distribution Centers or other administrations, and contributes to optimising the internal control procedures.
Your main tasks apply to the following:
- Accounting
- Support the Manager Group Accounting in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly closings;
- Act as the contact for the relevant financial administration;
- Coordinate the process involved in documentary credits and look after the correspondence required to execute documentary credits with clients;
- Support and Draw up periodic budget comparison reports and dispatch these to the (Senior) Managers;
- Draw up periodic accounting reports and dispatch these to the (Senior) Managers;
- Draw up Group Accounting reports;
- Draw up periodic declarations required for VAT and Statistics;
- Support the auditors when required in their year-end and semi-annual audits by providing them with the necessary information;
- In a later stage (or if necessary) the scope may be expanded to other Group Accounting administrations.
Leadership
- Instruct, coach and motivate the direct reports;
- Keep up-to-date on how the employees’ work is progressing, offer support and provide any necessary guidance;
- Support the Group Accounting Manager(s) in the execution of HR policies.
Candidate profile
Knowledge and experience
- HBO (higher vocational training) diploma in the field of Business Economy or Financial administration (SPD. i.e. HND equivalent)
- 4 years relevant work experience
- 0-2 years management experience
- Good command of written and spoken Dutch and English; German is a plus
- User experience of financial software packages

Manager Group Accounting
Purpose of this role is to produce correct and timely financial accounting records and reports on the business activities of subsidiaries according to the guidelines issued by ASICS Europe, in co-operation with local staff.
In the first stage the job will focus on administrations of the ASICS Benelux sales office, the Distribution Centre Mid Europe/Germany & the Distribution Centre West Europe /UK. In a later stage this can be expanded with new DC’s and/or subsidiaries.
Your main tasks apply to the following:
- Group Accounting
- Implement instructions, recommendations and requests from ASICS Europe within the Accounting departments of relevant subsidiaries
- Coordinate working procedures and local administrative requirements with them;
- Supervise the correct and timely execution of directives and steers if necessary;
- Check the management reports drafted by relevant subsidiaries;
- Monitor the progress of procedures for periodic financial balancing and support this where necessary;
- Coordinate the budgeting process within the subsidiaries and support these where necessary;
- Administer the accounting package;
- Deal with other issues in the field of Group Accounting.
Management
- Assist the Director Group Accounting & Control in formulating short (and medium) term strategy for the Group Accounting department;
- Draw up a Group Accounting budget for the Director Group Accounting & Control;
- Responsibility for realising the plans within the set budgets and timelines;
- Keep up-to-date on how the activities of the Accounting departments of relevant subsidiaries are progressing, offer support and provide any necessary functional guidance.

Payroll Associate
approx. April – August 2009
Who supports the Salary Administrator with payroll processing for the employees of ASICS Europe and its subsidiaries.
Your main tasks apply to the following:
- Checks the registration of holidays, overtime and flexitime. Imports the data into the salary administration and takes care of payment processing.
- Processes advances on salaries for employees.
- Processes the costs of internal sales, fines and travel through the salary administration.
- Enters salary changes into the salary system.
- Sends the salary changes of the Japanese and Belgian employees to the relevant selected external parties.
- Sends the salary changes of the employees of the ASICS subsidiaries to the relevant selected external parties in foreign countries.
- Supplies journal entries and required reports to Group Accounting & Control on a monthly basis.
- Reconciliates journal entries.
- Provides the required support during external and internal audits.
- Calculates and prepares payment requests e.g. income tax and social insurance premiums.
